Changing the Eye Color of Your Photograph

For all of you Photoshop savvy readers I have a pretty graphic and simple tutorial on how to change a persons eye color in a photograph. You will most likely be able to use any Adobe Photoshop version, however this tutorial was constructed in Version 5.0.

1) The first thing you need to do (if you haven’t already) is to open up whichever version of Adobe Photoshop is available to you.

2) Open an image with the person who’s eye color you wish to change.

3) Click on the “Edit in Quick Mask Mode” Icon.

4) Choose black as the foreground color.

5) Choose the brush tool. Select the appropriate size brush.

6) Begin painting with the brush over the entire eye. When in Quick Mask Mode the paint will be seen as a transparent red.

7) Click on the “Edit in Standard Mode” Icon.

8 ) Go to Select > Inverse.

9) Now you should only have the eye selected. (As seen below)

10) Go to Image > Adjustments > Desaturate.

11) Go to Image > Adjustments > Color Balance. Adjust the color sliders in order to get the eye color you desire.

12) Click OK to close out of Color Balance, once your desired eye color has been selected.

13) Click Ctrl+D to deselect and voilĂ ! You should now have your new eye color.

Here is another example involving a shade of Grey eyes turned to a very light blue.

I hope you’ve had the chance to enjoy this easy to learn tutorial as much as I have! Comment if you wish to tell us about your experience with this tutorial.

Enjoy!
